So many people are having to make some difficult choices right now trying to decide whether to move forward with their event with modifications to accommodate the new restrictions or wait until a later date. It’s definitely not an easy decision, and what’s right for one person may not be right for another.
Sometimes writing down the pros and cons of each option makes it easier to decide. Also, consider having two sections for each column. The Pro and Con column will each have a “Really Important” column, and a regular pro or con column. This makes it easier to see how many really important items are in each column, which could make the decision easier.
There’s also a third option of partially moving forward. This could be moving forward with just family, then having a larger celebration when things get back to normal. If it’s a wedding, you could get married at a private ceremony, then have your larger ceremony and reception later. If it’s a quinceanera or a bar/bat mitzvah, celebrate your birthday with close family, then have the larger celebration later.
Whichever you choose to do, remember to focus on the positives and not the negatives. Remember, this is still a reason to celebrate.
