We’ve all seen the photos in the magazines and online, the beautifully decorated event with stunning decor, centerpieces, lighting, etc. And of course, incredibly amazing floor length linens. There is no shortage of styles, colors and textures. Then of course comes the realization that they’re out of our price range. Now we’re left with the standard black, white or ivory polyester linens provided by the venue. That’s more than a little disappointing. So how do we get the “look” that the “spared no expense” events get? You layer….

Yes, that’s right. Keep the floor length tablecloth that’s provided that best matches your color scheme. Depending on your budget you could add a slightly smaller square or round overlay, or one that covers just past the edge of the table. If that’s not quite in the budget, a table runner or 2 table runners criss crossed. Now you’ve added a splash of color.

Another way to enhance the table decor is with colored napkins. Choosing a complimenting color will add so much dimension to the overall look. Napkins are fairly inexpensive to rent, but add a lot.
